TRENDZ Exclusive Interview LOAD Magazine

TRENDZ Glow Tour (Part 2) in Athens 23/11 – EXCLUSIVE Interview

LOAD is thrilled to share our exclusive interview with TRENDZ, the vibrant seven-member K-pop sensation whose energy, creativity, and raw performance power have made them one of the most exciting acts to watch. Consisting of Havit, Leon, Yoonwoo, Hankook, ra.L, Eunil, and Yecha, the group is known for delivering genre-bending music packed with emotion, slick choreography, and unforgettable stage presence.

We’re especially excited to be chatting with them ahead of their GLOW Tour (Part 2) concert in Athens, Greece on 23 November, taking place at ARCH Live Stage, where European Friendz will be among the first to hear their brand-new single, “Crime”, performed live. Since its release on 29 October 2025, Crime has had us dancing while exploring a mature side of TRENDZ’s artistry, interweaving minimalist beats with bold vocals and rap, truly feeling like a “perfect crime” we can’t stop listening to.

In this interview, we discuss all things music & tour but also go beyond the spotlight. You’ll get a glimpse into the members personalities, their quirks and their inspirations. So settle in, Friendz, because TRENDZ is about to glow up your screen… and maybe even your playlist.

The last time you were in Greece was back in June meeting and greeting fans. With your return and performance on the 23rd of November what new can fans expect? and what is your favourite thing about being back in Greece?

We have such great memories from our last visit, so we really want to create more wonderful moments on stage together with our fans this time as well. We’ve been working very hard to prepare new performances, so please look forward to them! Also, while we’re in Greece, I’d love to see and feel the beauty of the cities and nature here.

We’ve prepared a stage for our new song Crime, which shows a more mature side of us, so fans will be able to see a stronger and more confident TRENDZ. The best part is definitely that we’ll finally get to meet our Greek Friendz again after such a long wait!

The latest single Crime hits so differently than what we’ve heard from you until now. We are all vibin’ so much. Is there a specific ingredient that was the “kick-starter” for the song?

Until now, TRENDZ has presented many great songs and high-level performances, but this time we wanted to focus on showing that we’re truly a strong performance team. Since performance has always been our greatest strength since debut, we wanted to express that more clearly through Crime. We communicated a lot with our members and our company staff, and thanks to that teamwork, we were able to make such a powerful comeback.

CRIME feels like a statement piece for TRENDZ – confident and mature. Looking ahead, how would you like your music and artistry to evolve in 2026?

By 2026, I hope the color of TRENDZ will become deeper and more distinct. I want to deliver emotions that are richer and convey a wider variety of messages than we do now.

You have mentioned previously that when you first started writing rap lyrics, you focused on powerful, impactful rap, but now you’re gravitating toward easier-listening rap. What prompted that change, and how has it influenced your sound?

In the past, I used to think, “As long as I’m satisfied with it, that’s enough.” But at some point, I realized that if the general public finds it comfortable and pleasant to listen to, it fits the song much better. In the long run, I think that approach will be better for me as well. So I’ve been experimenting with different styles and studying a lot to improve.

Is there another music genre you actively listen to? Is there a European artist you actively follow?

I like Ed Sheeran. I’ve been listening to his songs since I was young, and I look up to him as a role model because I want to become an artist like him.

Without a doubt, Kendrick Lamar! I’m a huge fan of his hip-hop and listen to his music constantly, so collaborating with him would be amazing.

Imagine you were given one full week with no scheduled work, no social media, and total creative freedom. How would you spend it, individually or as a group?

I would spend the first three days completing a personal song just for myself, and then another three days creating a demo track for TRENDZ. I also believe that getting positive inspiration from other artists is very meaningful, so I think I’d spend the last day doing a featuring collaboration with another artist.

Which one of your songs (besides title tracks) do you believe deserves more recognition, and how would you re-present it (remix, acoustic, video version)?

For me, it’s Villain and Nightmare. They’re my personal favorites, and since both songs have a slightly dark and sexy concept, I think it would be great to reinterpret them through music videos that match their themes. It would show a new side of us.

I’d say Fantasy. It’s a song that we all really love within TRENDZ. It fits us very well and has a unique atmosphere, so I think it definitely deserves more recognition. If I were to reinterpret it, I’m confident that a band version or a music video version would turn out amazing.

If TRENDZ had to represent a fragrance or a flavour (taste) that embodies your current sound, what would it be and why?

I would describe it as coffee. At first, it has a strong aroma, but the more you taste it, the smoother it becomes. And it leaves a warm, lasting aftertaste. I think our music is like that.

Which member’s off-stage habit or personality trait surprises you the most, and how does that contrast with their on-stage person

I think that would be me. I have a big gap between how I am on stage and off stage. In daily life, despite how I might look, I can be a bit clumsy and goofy, but on stage, I always try to show my most professional side.

I’d also say Yoonwoo! On stage, he looks very serious, charismatic, powerful, mature, and intellectual. But off stage, he’s the complete opposite: clumsy, forgetful, and always smiling. The contrast is huge!

Music industry aside: what is one skill you would like to learn or a hobby you would like to pick up that has nothing to do with music or performance?

I think it’s hard to completely put the music industry aside. I’ve loved dancing since I was young, so even now I want to learn new dances, and my hobby is still dancing.

I want to learn more about video production! I already enjoy filming and editing videos of the members, but I’d like to study it more deeply.

To what extent does each member’s personal wardrobe feed into the group’s collective performance look, and how do you balance individuality with unified group aesthetics?

I think each member’s personal outfits have a significant impact on the group’s performance looks. In a way, a member’s personal style can inspire the stage outfits. The clothes we wear in daily life best reflect the vibe each member wants to express, and the company takes that into consideration when designing our stage outfits. I’m always grateful for that.

The balance between individuality and a unified group aesthetic changes with each comeback, but all of us understand that the styling must match the concept of the comeback song. If we have ideas for styling, we discuss them a lot with our company and staff, experiment, and try new things to achieve that balance.

You have done dozens of interviews. Being asked questions, over and over. What is one question that you’ve not been asked yet -or as much- that you would love to answer more?

It would be: “If you were given a vacation and the members could travel together, where would you like to go?” I’d love to go on a trip with the hyungs (older members) to a deserted island for a week, with no phones or electronic devices. In today’s world, it’s hard to do anything without a phone, but I think even if it’s tough at first, we could adapt after a while. If we ever get a day off together, I’d really like to try that!

LOAD Magazine can’t wait to see TRENDZ live this Sunday! See you all there!
